It was in 1952, in a Parisian café, far from the beaches of the Tropéziennes, that the Giraglia Rolex Cup was born, straight from the imagination of three men: René Levainville, Franco Gavagnin and Beppe Croce.
The principle of this event consists of a rallying race starting from San Remo in Italy on Friday evening at midnight and a finish on Saturday in Saint-Tropez.
The participants will take part in 3 days of racing (the "Giraglia Rolex Cup") on coastal courses of 35 miles maximum in the bay of Saint-Tropez. This will be followed by a 243-mile offshore race (coefficient 2) starting from Saint-Tropez and rounding the Giraglia islet to the north of Corsica and finishing in Genoa.
